The state experienced more job growth last month, when the jobless rate declined, but more people were out of work in Hockley County than in May.
A report from the Texas Workforce Commission showed that Texas marked its third straight month of seasonally adjusted job growth with the addition of 16,700 nonagricultural jobs in June.
Over the year, the state had an increase of 269,900 jobs.
The stateís seasonally adjusted unemployment rate went from 4.3 percent in May to 4.2 percent in June.
