Saenz gets 15 month for plea in meth trial
Debbie Saenz was sentenced to 455 days in a state jail facility after she pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance Tuesday.
The 53-year-old Levelland woman pleaded guilty to the state jail felony after a jury had been seated in the 286th Judicial District Court.
A jury deliberated 30 minutes before returning their sentence.
Saenz could have been sentenced to a maximum of two years in custody and fined $10,000.
Police Officer Andrew Mosteller testified Tuesday that he stopped Saenzís car the night of June 15, 2013 for a defective brake light.
Mosteller said Saenz trembled when she gave him her driverís license. He received permission to search her purse and found a glass pipe that contained a trace amount of methamphetamine. It field tested positive for meth.
