The Levelland Independent Schcool District and all other public schools in Hockley County met the standard in the state accountability ratings that were recently released.
A Texas Education Agency report revealed that 94 percent of school districts and charters in Texas achieved the rating of Met Standard in the accountability summary.
Heidi Blair, LISD director of curriculum, said students here outscored ìeverybodyî in three of out of four indexes when compared with school districts in Snyder, Lamesa, Pampa, Sweetwater, Borger, Seminole and Big Spring.
‘We would like to attribute our 2014 successes to setting high expectations in and out of our classrooms,’ Blair said. ‘I’m very proud of Levelland ISD. We are ahead of the game, and itís demonstrated by our results.’
The ratings are based on a system that uses indicators to provide more detail about the performance of a district or charter and campuses.
