Parking project, ag farm lease approved by LISD

A new  high  school  parking  lot and a two-year lease for the existing ag farm were approved Thursday by the Levelland school board.

Trustees took those separate actions after accepting $4,019,245 in construction bids for renovating the high school.

Jim McCutchin, construction manager agent, said that 80 percent of the work will be done by local contractors.

‘I want to pat you on the back,’ McCutchin said. ”Y’all should be commended on that.’

The work, the companies approved for it and bid amounts were:

Demo – ZM Interiors, $375,000; Structural steel – South Plains Steel, $10,000; Finished hardware – RSM, $98,689; Finished hardware (installation) – Quality Construction, $7,500; Drywall/ceilings -ZM Interiors, $297,000; Painting – Mendez & Son, $486,175; Carpet/VCT Tile – Brockís Carpet/ZM Interiors, $339,700; Acoustical wall panels (band hall) – ZM Interiors, $10,000; Roofing/sheet metal – Tecta America, $155,900; Plumbing/HVAC – Comfort Masters, $407,300; Electrical – K-Bar, $898,500; Elevator – Thyssenkrupp, $69,791 Concrete – Royal Concrete, $46,982; Asphalt surfacing – McHam, $647,055, $169,653.
