A Lubbock man who allegedly assaulted an elderly man before fleeing was arrested Thursday afternoon at a Hockley County residence.
Jordan Clay Burrell, 19, was arrested at an unoccupied residence on Quail Road at about 2 p.m.
Burrell was taken to Ropesville where he was magistrated by Justice of the Peace Sue Coker.
He was charged with evading arrest, possession of a controlled substance, more than 28 grams, burglary of a habitation with intent to commit a felony and possession of marijuana, more than four ounces.
Coker set bonds totaling $46,500.
The events leading to Burrellís arrest started after he assaulted a 67-year-old man at a rural residence in Lubbock County.
He fled the scene and apparently drove to Hockley County where he broke into a Quail Road home, said Chief Deputy Jim Warren of the Hockley County Sheriffís Office.
