John W. Clary likes Levelland’s can-do-it spirit.
Clary, who began working here this week as the city’s new director of economic development, says Levelland has a lot going for it.
“The thing I like about Levelland is the can-do spirit,î he said. ìIt just took a lot to decide to develop that Rail Park, and itís really taken off. That shows a lot of foresight.”
Clary brings a lot to the table as the third executive director to head the Levelland Economic Development Corporation.
He may have followed in his father’s footsteps.
The older man was the city manager of Brownwood from 1960 to 1968, and the family lived in Harlingen and Texarkana before moving to Austin in the 1970s.
His son graduated from high school in 1977 and attended what was then Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos. He graduated with a bachelorís degree in business administration.
