Christmas on Square set Thursday in city

Santa Claus, live music and a lighted parade will be featured Thursday when Christmas on the Square is staged in downtown Levelland.

The festivities will kick off at 5:30 p.m. when Santa Claus arrives at the gazebo on the courthouse square. Santa will hear childrenís Christmas wishes and the Levelland Marigolds will hand out goodie bags to each child.

The celebration will continue with  events at the following times:

5:30 p.m. – Levelland ABC Choir.

5:45 p.m. – Capitol Elementary Choir.

6 p.m. – South Elementary Choir.

6:15 p.m. – Levelland Christian School Choir.

6:30 p.m. – Miss Jillís School of Dance.

6:30 p.m. – Merry Christmas Pageant contestants will be crowned at Deck the Halls, 806 Austin St., and a $250 Levelland Bucks raffle will be drawn.

6:45 p.m. – South Plains College Ballroom Dance team.
The lighted Christmas parade will start at 7 p.m. at Avenue G and Fifth  Street.
