Cochran County Sheriff Raymond Weber is running for a second term in office.
Weber has served with the Cochran County Sheriffís Office for 21 years.
He served as chief deputy for 19 years under Kenneth Burke and later R.W. (Wallace) Stalcup.
Weber said his officers are young, energetic and hard working.
‘I am very proud of my officers. They are young, eager, energetic and work well together,’ he said. ‘My plan is to continue to build on that.’
He has five paid deputies and plans to increase their activity in such areas as more drug busts.
Rural burglaries are down from earlier this year, Weber added.
