Police officer’s actions prevent possible accident

Actions taken by a fast-acting police officer Monday prevented what could have been a dangerous accident.

Police Sgt. Tom Tindel was driving to work in the 1400 block of South College Avenue when he noticed a pickup truck ahead of him.

The driver of the Ford F-250 pickup was pulling a trailer with a tandem axle when it came loose.

‘He (Tindel)saw the trailer come loose and pass the pickup,’ said police Capt. Duane Rust.

Tindel turned on his emergency lights and passed  several vehicles to get in front of the trailer, which had veered into the left turn lane.

The veteran lawman positioned his 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe in front of the trailer, easing it to a stop in the eastbound lanes of Clubview Drive.
