Heroes young and old who helped their neighbors out during the recent blizzard were recognized Friday when a proclamation was signed by Mayor Barbra Pinner.
Particular attention was paid to a 6-year-old girl, Adelyn Franklin.
Police Sgt. Craig Hancock presented Adelyn with a ìchallenge coin.î
‘One particular person that was helped was our chief of police,’ Hancock said. ‘He got stuck.
Michael (Franklin) and his daughter showed up and helped him get his vehicle unstuck.’
Adelyn, her dad and Roger Rodriguez helped push the police chiefís vehicle clear.
‘We want to thank all of our citizens but we’re focusing on you,’ he told the girl. ‘You were a super hero that day and weíre real thankful.’
