Cochran County students excel at Stock Show

The annual Cochran County Livestock Show drew to a close with a successful premium auction which generated over $137,000 for  youngsters Saturday afternoon.

This yearís show was dedicated to the memory of two outstanding Cochran County Citizens: Billy Sutton and Douglas Wayne Zuber.

Sutton was a student at Whiteface and an active FFA and 4-H member, who lost his battle with brain cancer last summer.

Zuber was a life-long resident of the Morton and Whiteface communities and a cotton farmer for 50 years. He was the auctioneer for the Cochran County Livestock Sale and other sales for over 40 years. He was also actively involved in various leadership roles in the county.

The families of both men were recognized before the awards presentation and auction.
