Eric Silhan makes bid for Pct. 3 commissoner

Eric Silhan would like to continue serving his neighbors in Morton and Cochran County.

Silhan, who is wrapping up his fifth year as mayor of Morton, is a candidate for Precinct 3 county commissioner.

‘I want to continue to serve the people of Cochran County,’ he said. ‘I believe my leadership is needed at the county level. We’ve accomplished a lot of good things, and I want to carry that over to the county and keep the budget under control.’

Silhan grew up in Morton and he began farming he was in junior high school.

After graduating from high school, he attended South Plains College and earned an associate’s degree in business management.

Today, he and his oldest son, Jacob, farm about 7,500 acres of land.
