SPC Foundation Gala raise nearly $180,000
The 18th Annual South Plains College Foundation Scholarship Gala was a success, generating nearly $180,000 for future scholarships.
At the conclusion of the event, which was held Saturday in the SPC Physical Education Complex, it was announced that the event had generated $173,345.
Julie Gerstenberger, director of Development, reported that the total had grown to nearly $180,000 as of Tuesday afternoon. A special appeal that was made during the event had generated more than $5,000.
‘I am overwhelmed by the show of support in this tough economic time. I am just overwhelmed!’said Mrs. Gerstenberger. ‘What a blessing!’
More than 475 people attended the event, which was highlighted by a musical performance by SPC alumnus Jerrod Niemann and faculty members from the Creative Arts Department.
