County officials sworn in

Newly elected and appointed county officials were sworn into office at 8 a.m. Sunday, January 1, in Hockley County.
The swearing-in ceremony was held in the District Courtroom in the Hockley County Courthouse. District Judge Pat Phelan presided over the ceremony.
The officials sworn in for Hockley County included: Ray Scifres, Hockley County Sheriff; J.L. “Whitey” Barnett, county commissioner for Precinct 3; Curtis Thrash, county commissioner for Precinct 1; Larry Wood, Justice of the Peace; Anna Dunn Hord, county attorney; Debra Bramlett, county tax assessor-collector; Robert Dalton, Constable Precinct 2; Jennifer Kinney, Constable Precinct 4; and Lance Scott, Constable Precinct 5.
Judge Phelan also presided over a similar swearing-in ceremony in Cochran County at 1 p.m. January 1.
The officials sworn in for Cochran County included: Eric Silhan, county commissioner for Precinct 3; Timothy Roberts, county commissioner for Precinct 1; Jorge Delacruz, Cochran County Sheriff; Benjamin Bristow, Cochran County Constable; and Beverly McClellan, county auditor.
