Payden Allen, 18, was indicted by a Hockley County grand jury, Wednesday, for the offense of murder. His bond was set at $100,000.

Allen was arrested Sunday, June 11, as a result of a homicide investigation conducted by the Hockley County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 6800 block of Nevada Road on Saturday, June 10, when Allen’s father, Brandon Allen, 47, didn’t show up to a family event in San Antonio. Deputies found Brandon Allen deceased with a single gunshot wound.

Payden Allen was located by authorities in Lubbock and was questioned by Texas Rangers. Following the interview, Payden Allen was arrested and taken to the Hockley County Jail where he was held on an initial $250,000 bond.

On Friday, Payden Allen was released from the Hockley County Jail after Brenda Nock, Justice of the Peace for Precinct 5 signed the motion for the bond reduction. Nock said she signed the motion after the request was approved by the Hockley County District Attorney’s Office. The bond was reduced to $100,000.
