Federal judge sentences local defendants

Jorge Andres Nunez-Saenz, 51, of Levelland, and Nancy Cecilia Martinez, 37, of Levelland, were both sentenced federally for their involvement in a large scale drug trafficking organization.

The pair was arrested in May and were each charged in a four-count indictment with one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine with two counts each of distribution and possession with intent to distribut 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.

Nunez-Saenz, aka Tucan, was sentenced to federal imprisonment for a term of 97 months, set to run consecutively to any sentence imposed by the pending case in the 286th District Court; supervised release for a term of four years and MSA of $100.

Martinez was sentenced to federal imprisonment for a term of 87 months to run consecutive to any sentence imposed by the pending case in the 286th District Court; supervised release for a term of three years and MSA of $100.
