Officers arrested Doryan Bindseil, 20, Monday in relation to a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning. He is being held on a $50,000 bond at the Hockley County Jail for a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Officers responded to the call just before 1 a.m. Sunday. They found one man, Rodney Sinyard, 57, of Levelland, with a gunshot wound to his upper arm, according to reports.

Reports also indicate Sinyard had a laceration on the right side of his chest area. Jody Guerra, detective with the police department, said the laceration was a bullet that grazed Sinyard.

Police said Sinyard was released from the hospital Monday.

After speaking to witnesses, officers determined three to four shots had been fired and the suspect had fled the scene eastbound on 9th Street, according to reports.

Witnesses said the suspect arrived at the residence and spoke with an uninvolved party outside. During their conversation, Sinyard walked to the front door and exchanged words with the suspect.

Witnesses said the suspect then pulled a gun out of his vehicle and shot three to four times in Sinyard’s direction.
