The Levelland Loboettes outscored the Seminole Maidens by 32 points, 56-24, to win a Class 4A quarter-final championship and to advance into the regional tournament this weekend at the Lubbock Christian University Rip Griffin Center.
It was the third victory for the Loboettes against the Maidens as they also defeated the team 42-35 on January 19th and 48-28 on Feb. 6th during district play.
With the win, the Loboettes will face Abilene Wylie girls in the regional tournament. Wylie is 25-6 for the season while the Loboettes are 34-2. The winner of the match-up will face the winner of the Denver City vs. Glen Rose game, which will be played at 7 p.m. That championship game will be played at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Rip Griffin Center.
The Loboettes were led by Natalie Velardez, who scored 22 points against Seminole. Miranda Villegas was also in double digits with 14 points while Paige Royal scored seven, Allie Latham scored vfive, MaKayla Escue added four, Joaycee Hill scored three and Mari Ruiz scored one point.
