Authorities have positively identified the body found in Cochran County as 39-year-old Ricky Mendoza.
According to the Department of Public Safety, preliminary autopsy results do not show foul play as a cause of death.
The Texas Rangers were called to assist the Cochran County Sheriff’s Department Monday when a body was found by a passerby approximately three miles southwest of Morton.
Cochran County Judge Pat Sabala Henry ordered an autopsy on the body that was located, which was performed Wednesday. Final autopsy and toxicology results are pending, according to DPS.
