Police investigating bomb threat at Levelland Intermediate School

The Levelland Police Department is currently on scene at the Levelland Intermediate School where officers are investigating a bomb threat.

Levelland Police Chief Albert Garcia said a note was found written on the wall in one of the bathrooms that said an explosive device was inside the building and would detonate at 1 p.m. He said, based on Levelland ISD protocols and for student and staff safety, the school was evacuated to the former football stadium.

At this time, the school district is not dismissing classes. Garcia said after the school has been cleared, students and staff will be allowed to go back into the building. Officers are currently on scene and investigating the threat.

Garcia said any further updates will come from the school district via Skyward.
