Ralph ‘Sly’ Sylvester Ochoa

Funeral services for Ralph ‘Sly’ Sylvester Ochoa, 58, of Levelland, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, November 8, at First Evangelical Presbyterian Church with pastor Jon Sharpe officiating and music provided by Margaret Golightly and Cindy Terzenbach.
Internment will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery, under the direction of Head Duarte Funeral Home of Levelland.
Visitation was held from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday,  November 7, and family  received friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Head Duarte Funeral Home Chapel of Levelland.
He passed away November 4, 2019, in Lubbock.
Sly was born January 20, 1961, to Jose Evanso and Guadalupe Dominguez Ochoa in Levelland.
He was a 1980 graduate of Levelland High School.
Sly married Marisa Gaines June 2, 2002, in Levelland.    
He worked with his father at The Mexi’s Auto Shop family owned business as an auto mechanic and he was a volunteer firefighter with the Levelland Fire Department for over 25 years. 
Sly was also a Texas State General Licensed Insurance agent and had worked for State Farm Insurance with  Jerry Sanders, Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Company with Jay Boudreaux, and Acceptance Insurance of Lubbock.
Sly was an Elder for the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church under pastor Jon Sharpe and enjoyed cooking and catering for the church. 
He enjoyed spoiling his wife Marisa and spending time with his two children and grandchildren. 
Sly also enjoyed grilling outside with the family, fishing, camping, boating, buying storage units, sitting outside, playing table games and taking road trips to Ruidoso and Las Vegas, Nevada with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Jose Evanso and Guadalupe Dominguez Ochoa; brother, Robert Ochoa; and sister, Maria Anthony.
She is survived by his spouse of 18 years, Marisa Ochoa; daughter, Lauren (Daron) Corbin;
son, Lance (Amber) Keller; brothers, Ray (Rafaela) Ochoa and Raymond (Aida) Ochoa, all of Levelland; sisters:  Linda Reyna, Connie (Mart) Comer and Melba (Ben) Gomez, all of Levelland and Lisa (Pete) Longoria of Sundown;
grandchildren: Shelby Corbin, Blake Keller, Ashton Keller, Dylan Keller, Kylie Corbin, Bella Campos and Kaleb  Keller; and a host of nephews and nieces that loved him. 
Pallbearers included: Blake Keller, Dylan Keller, Bobby Gomez, Mark Anthony, Alex Anthony, Dr. Franklin Babb,  Nathan Gomez and Christopher Gomez 
Honorary pallbearers were the Levelland Fire Department.
