Elsa Garces Quezada

Funeral services for Elsa Garces Quezada, 56, of Levelland, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 4, at St.  Michael’s Catholic Church of Levelland, with Rev. Jonathan Phillip officiating and music provided by Johnny Vasquez.
Internment will be held at a later date.
Visitation was held Friday,  November 29, Saturday, November 30 and Sunday, December 1, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. and will be held Monday, December 2 and Tuesday, December 3, from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. with the reciting of the Rosary held at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Head Duarte Funeral Home of Levelland.
She passed away November 28, 2019, in Lubbock.
Elsa was born September 3, 1963, to Felix Garces, Sr. and Eloisa Garcia Garces in Mathis.
She was a 1982 graduate of Friendship High School of Wolfforth.  
Elsa married Juan Quezada, Sr. January 9, 1983, in Levelland, and from this union they had two sons.  
She worked as a hostess at  Joselito’s Restaurant  for several years and as a custodian at Covenant Levelland Hospital for a couple of years.
Elsa enjoyed playing at the casinos, bingo, scratch-offs and the lottery; watching Judge Judy and Jerry Springer; reading the newspaper, listening to the police scanner, shopping and cooking.
She would take her favorite white, poodle puppy ‘Roxy’ with her everywhere she would go on long or short trips.
Elsa loved spending time with her grandchildren and  family.   
She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Levelland.
She was preceded in death by her father, Felix Garces, Sr. in 1990; and sister, Norma Garces.
She is survived by her mother, Eloisa Garcia Garces  of Lubbock;
spouse of 36 years,  Juan Quezada Sr. of Levelland; sons,  Luis Carlos (Veronica) Quezada and Juan Luis (Carmen) Quezada, both of Levelland; sisters, Ylma Martinez of Levelland and Ida Cervantes of Lubbock; brothers: Felix Garces, Jr. of Taff, Sam Garces of Levelland and Freddy Garces of Lubbock; and two grandchildren, Alexius Marie Quezada and Sebastian Luis Quezada.
Pallbearers included: Rico Garces, Andrew Garces, Anthony Cervantes, Adam Cervantes, Gilbert Farias, Jr. and Fernando Quezada.
Arrangements are under the professional care of Head Duarte Funeral Home of Levelland.
