Hockley County reports first death related to COVID-19

Hockley County Judge Sharla Baldridge said Wednesday that the Department of State Health Services has confirmed the first Hockley County death related to the novel coronavirus, COVID-19.

Baldridge said the person was one of the seven already confirmed positive cases and was a Levelland resident between the ages of 55 and 60.

So far, seven cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Hockley County, two in Levelland, four in Sundown and one in Ropesville.
