The Hockley County Commissioners have called an emergency meeting for Thursday at 9 a.m. and the Levelland City Council has called a special meeting for Thursday at 7 p.m.
Both meetings are in regards to the stay at home orders issued by the respective entities earlier this month.
The commissioners agenda says the court will discuss and take potential action to continue, renew and/or modify the declaration and third ratification of the local state of disaster due to public health emergency, stay at home/stay safe order amendment, modification and replacement. The commissioners will meet at the Hockley County Courthouse in the commissioners’ courtroom on the first floor of the courthouse.
The Levelland City Council will meet Thursday at 7 p.m. with a one-item agenda, to consider procedures, processes, timelines and priorities regarding lifting restrictions and regulations implemented during COVID-19 public health emergency.
The city council meeting will be broadcast live on Facebook at Facebook.com/levellandtexas. The public will be permitted to offer public comments during the ‘Statements by Citizens’ portion of the meeting in one of two ways: telephonically by calling the city’s conference number at (806) 568-5437, and by providing written comments on the Facebook live stream page but only under the following conditions: the written comments must contain the individual’s name and address, must include the reference ‘Public Comment–Levelland Council Meeting,’ and must be submitted during or before the conclusion of the ‘Statements by Citizens’ agenda item.
