DPS executes search warrant, arrests two for manufacture, delivery

Special agents with the Department of Public Safety executed a search warrant Friday resulting in the arrest of Teddy Ralph Johnson, 57, and Tabatha Christine Romo, 33, for the offenses manufacture, delivery of a controlled substance between four and 200 grams, and possession of marijuana between four ounces and five lbs, according to reports.

According to arrest warrant affidavits, DPS executed a search warrant Friday morning at a residence in the 300 block of N. College Avenue. Agents first located a tied off bag containing a substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed approximately 55 grams. Agents then located a white-crystal substance weighing six grams, bringing the total weight of methamphetamine located to 61 grams.

Agents also located multiple bags of marijuana, weighing 1.7 ounces, 13.5 ounces, 14.2 ounces, and 6.2 ounces, for a weight total of 35.6 ounces, or 2.22 lbs.

In addition to the drugs that were located, agents found more than $2,000 in cash, which was seized as part of the investigation. The arrest warrant affidavit notes that Romo is on felony probation in Hockley County from a previous offense until November 2026.

As of Friday morning, both individuals had been booked into the Hockley County Jail but their bonds had not been set.
