Since last Monday, 43 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Hockley County, bringing the total number of cases to 115 with 73 of those currently active cases. Nine new recoveries were reported Thursday, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 41. The majority of new cases confirmed in the past week involved Levelland residents.
Tuesday, there were three new cases reported involving Levelland residents between the age ranges of 20-30, 60-70 and 30-40.
Wednesday, 10 new cases were reported involving eight Levelland residents and two Smyer residents. The ages of those cases ranged from 10 years old to 90 years old.
Thursday, six new cases and nine new recoveries were reported. Of the new cases, four were Levelland residents and two were Smyer residents. Of the Levelland cases, two were in the 60 to 70 age range and two were between the ages of 40 and 50 years old. Of the Smyer cases, both cases involved individuals between the ages of 10 and 20 years old.
Friday, 10 new cases were reported involving four Levelland residents, five Anton residents and one Sundown resident. Of those reported in Levelland, three were between the ages of 20 and 30 years old and one was between the ages of 50 and 60 years old. In Anton, three of the cases were between 10 and 20 years old, one was between the ages of 50 and 60 years old, and one was between the ages of 30 and 40 years old. In Sundown, the new case reported involved an individual between the ages of 30 and 40 years old.
