Hockley County Judge reports 28 new recoveries, one new case and one death Tuesday

Hockley County Judge Sharla Baldridge said the Department of State Health Services has reported 28 new recoveries of Hockley County COVID-19 patients, bringing the total recovered to 69. DSHS also reported one new death involving a Levelland resident between 60 and 70 years old Tuesday and one new case.

Additionally, Judge Baldridge said DSHS removed two previously reported cases. One was removed because the individual was a Lubbock resident and the other case was removed because it was a false positive.

There have been 114 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Hockley County since March, including two deaths, 69 recoveries and now 43 active cases.

Of the cases that remain active, the majority are in Levelland, including the new case reported Tuesday which involves a Levelland resident between the ages of 20 and 30 years old.

The active cases by city are as follows:

Sundown: 2
Anton: 5
Smyer: 3
Whitharral: 1
