Verdis was active – when he was stationed at Holloman AFB – in our youth group at FBC in Alamogordo. He – and other airmen – enjoyed being at our home in the nearby ‘foothills’ for singsongs around the piano – homemade ice cream – & hiking up Alamo Canyon. I’ve been going thru old albums & found a picture of Verdis and me standing under a spring dripping water – & we’re both there drinking spring water in that fashion. He was a young guy with a great dream – someone we all loved and admired. Voncille Cadenhead Williams
