Graveside services for Richard Tillmon, 61, of Levelland, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, at the City of Levelland Cemetery, with Pastor Ricky Altman officiating, under the direction of Head Duarte Funeral Home of Levelland.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, July 20, at Head Duarte Funeral Home.
He passed away July 12, 2020, in Lubbock.
Richard was born June 15, 1959, to K. P. and Shirley J. Tillmon in Levelland.
Richard attended public schools in Amarillo and he received his associate’s degree in business finance from South Plains College in Levelland.
He married Laretia Jones October 29, 1983, in Levelland, and had three children from this union.
Richard was the owner, operator and chef of Richard’s Barbeque Restaurant for over 30 years in Levelland and he always wore a smile.
He enjoyed visiting the casinos in Las Vegas, dancing with his wife and listening to Motown and R&B music.
His favorite pass-time was spending quality time with all his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, K. P. and Shirley J. Tillmon; and his spouse of 33 years, Laretia J. Tillmon.
He is survived by his daughter, Tanikka King of Midland; two sons, Sedric King of Levelland and Dewayne King of Midland; brothers: Raymond (Evelyn) Jones of Ocean Side, California, Taylor (Aneta) Clemons of Dallas, and Maltan (Mechelle) Penns of Amarillo; sisters: Linda Sue Haywood of Chula Vista, California, Gloria Tillmon of Clarendon, Texas, Opale (Kermit) Erwin of Deerbox, Texas and Erma Fitts of Abilene; and eight grandchildren: Cameron , Amirro, Lisa, Aviron, Zachary, Elexus, Zephlynn and Keyarey.
