He’s gone to be with his Heavenly Father.
Jerry Mack Garrison, 79, died Friday, August 28, under the “Friday Night Lights” in Waco.
Jerry was born in Levelland to Earl Wesley and Sara Odelene, with brothers, Joe and Bob, and sister, Joan.
Graduating as an all state football player from Levelland High School, the Class of ‘5, he entered Texas Tech University to play ball.
He left his senior year to begin work in radio broadcasting with his brothers. Jerry owned and operated KLMT in Marlin.
After selling KLMT, Jerry completed his degree and teacher certification in 1989 and began his teaching career.
Sports were an important part of Jerry’s life, from playing to coaching Little League for 18 years.
He loved teaching, all TTU sports, golf, gardening and music of all genre.
Jerry was a devoted husband, who was extremely proud of his sons and all of his grandchildren.
He loved seeing each grow and develop into the individuals they are today.
The family would like to thank each person for every act of kindness shown during Jerry’s illness. Your love and concern has been a source of strength.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann; three sons: Chris (Amy), David (Elizabeth) and Michael (Abby); six grandchildren: Lillian, Sarah, Violet, Harper, Evie and Charlie Mack; sister, Joan (Charles); and 10 nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held October 11, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Lott, Texas.
