Hockley County reports 57 new cases, Cochran County has 19 active cases

Hockley County Judge Sharla Baldridge said while she was out of the office last week, the Department of State Health Services confirmed a total of 57 new cases between October 5 and October 12.

Forty-four of the new cases reported involved Levelland residents. The age ranges of the Levelland cases included: two residents between the age of zero and 10 years old, six cases between the ages of 10 and 20 years old, five cases between the ages of 20 and 30 years old, nine cases between the ages of 30 and 40 years old, three cases between the ages of 40 and 50 years old, eight cases between the ages of 50 and 60 years old, one case between the ages of 70 and 80 years old, three cases between the ages of 80 and 90 years old and one case between the ages of 90 and 100 years old.

Two of the new cases involved Sundown residents, one between the ages of zero and 10 years old and one between the ages of 70 and 80 years old.

Three new Ropesville cases were reported, involving a person between the ages of 10 and 20 years old, one between the ages of 50 and 60 years old, and one between the ages of 80 and 90 years old.

Three new Smyer cases were reported, involving two residents between the ages of 40 and 50 years old and one resident between the ages of 30 and 40 years old.

Five new Anton cases were reported, one between the ages of 20 and 30 years old, two between the ages of 30 and 40 years old, one between the ages of 40 and 50 years old, and one between the ages of 60 and 70 years old.

Judge Baldridge said this brings the total cases reported in Hockley County to 430, with 312 recoveries, 111 active cases and seven confirmed deaths.

Judge Baldridge said she hopes to receive a new recovery report soon, but as of Tuesday afternoon, this was the most up-to-date information.

As of Friday, Morton had 19 active cases, all believed to be in Morton, according to Judge Pat Sabala Henry.

The age ranges on the cases include: two residents between the ages of zero and 10 years old, two residents between the ages of 10 and 20 years old, four cases between the ages of 30 and 40 years old, four cases between the ages of 40 and 50 years old, one case between the ages of 50 and 60 years old, four cases between the ages of 70 and 80 years old, and one case between the ages of 80 and 90 years old.
