When heaven’s gates opened to Glynn Raymon Price, 76, of Levelland, they opened to one of the greatest men that ever lived.
He passed away Tuesday December 15, 2020, in San Antonio.
Graveside services will be held Monday, December 21, at 11 a.m. at the Levelland City Cemetery, under the direction of Krestridge Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors at Krestridge on Sunday, December 20, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and ask that proper Covid precautions are taken.
Glynn was born April 11, 1944, in Littlefield, to Clyde and Frances Johnson Price.
He graduated from Bula High School in 1962 and always enjoyed going to the community reunions.
He is a United States Army Veteran and was proud of his service.
Glynn loved the land, loved his family and loved to have a good time.
He had a quiet integrity that drove everything he did to excellence. Whether he was farming, meeting the guys for coffee or cards, doting on his grandchildren or traveling with friends and family, his presence was always larger than life.
He was a cotton farmer in Cochran County and served on both the Maple Cooperative Gin Board and with the Plains Cotton Cooperative Association Delegate Body.
He was a deeply loyal friend and once you were his friend, it was for life. He was a man with many names. Whether you knew him as Tweet, Uncle Butch, Glynn, Daddy, Papa, Grandad, or Mr. Price, you too were included as a friend.
Glynn is survived by his wife of 14 years, Dixie Everitt Mellberg Price of Levelland; his daughter, Jacque Price Tieszen and husband, Rod; and grandchildren: Gemma, Rose and Rodney, all of Lubbock; his son, Gary Price; and grandson, Landon Price of Lubbock; his granddaughter, Tina Price Gregory and husband, Tristan; and his first great-grandchild, due in March, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his sister, Wanda Wheeler of Lubbock; sisters-in-law, Troy Price and Shirley Everitt of Lubbock; and special aunt, Jeane Campbell of Lubbock.
He is also survived by Dixie’s children: Amy Mellberg McCasland and husband, Casey, of Lubbock, Dusty Mellberg and wife, Adrian, and children, Brier and Baylor of Levelland and Jody Mellberg of Levelland.
He is also loved and missed by Lindsey Turney Perry and Chance Turney.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Keith Price.
