Clara Bernice Evans Webb

A memorial service for Clara Bernice Evans Webb, 95, will be held at a later date at Head Duarte Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will be held at Coleman Cemetery, under the direction of Head Duarte Funeral Home of Levelland.

She passed away January 17, 2021, in Lubbock.

Clara was born November 16, 1925, to Raymond W. and Goldie N. Evans, in Tahoka.

She graduated from Winters High School in 1942.

Clara worked many years as a nurse for a country doctor since she was 16 years old.

She married the love of her life, Wayne B. Webb May 21, 1949, in Coleman.
Clara was a home healthcare provider at the Levelland Nursing Home and Rehab for many years.

She was best friends with Bill Thomman, owner of Thomman’s Jewelry Store of Levelland, where she had been employed until she retired .

She was a long time member of Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch of Amarillo and of the Red Hat Society of Levelland.

Clara was a beautiful singer and was a wonderful dancer and she enjoyed traveling with her husband and family.

Her grandchildren were her life. Clare enjoyed watching her granddaughter, Adisynn Clara Strickland, compete in barrel racing competitions in Sundown.

Clara was a strong German woman who loved and lived a good Christian life. She was a life time member of the Four Square Gospel Church.

She was preceded by her parents; and her husband of 37 years, Wayne B. Webb.

She is survived by her son, Gary W. (Phyllis) Webb of Lubbock; daughters: Shirley Lee Helton of San Tan Valley, Arizonia and Carolyn (Scott) Wright of Levelland; four grandchildren: Jeff (Irma) Helton, Pamela (Darrin) Jones, Kristen (David) Strickland and Cindi Aggie Taylor; and five great-grandchildren: Alan (Kristina) Jones, Ashlee Jones, Ashlynn Strickland, Aub ree Strickland and Adisynn Clara Strickland.

In Lieu of flowers, please make charitable donations in her name to Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch.

Honorary pallbearers include: Luther Brackens, Jeff Helton, David Strickland, Darrin Jones, Alan Jones and Greg McKay.

    We have known each for almost 70 years . Not related but family. I will always love and miss you.

    I am so blessed to have known Ms. Bernice for many years. She was always so kind and sweet to me, and was one of the sweetest souls I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. She will be missed for sure by many!
