Funeral services for Leonor Ruiz Alvarado, 65, of Morton, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 6, at First Baptist Church in Morton with Brother Rush Coffman of Morton officiating.
Burial will be held in the Morton Memorial Cemetery.
Leonor went peacefully to join her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, in Lubbock.
She was born December 13, 1955, to Alejandro and Rita Ruiz in Michoacan, Mexico.
Leonor met Salvador Alvarado, Jr. in Portales, New Mexico and they were married in Morton on April 22, 1975.
She worked as a Certified Nurses Aide for many years and as a food service worker for Morton ISD.
Leonor was a member of the First Baptist Church in Morton and was a devout Christian who loved Christ.
She enjoyed gardening, shopping, cooking and reading her Bible.
Leonor was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She loved helping anyone in need and was a very giving and compassionate person.
Leonor was a loving friend to anyone she met and a spiritual Mom to many.
She loved her children and her grandchildren fiercely.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alejandro Ruiz.
Leonor leaves behind her loving husband of 46 years, Salvador “Mi Viejo”; son, Victor Alvarado and wife, Michelle, of Lubbock and their children: Elias Alvarado, Christian Muro, Nicholas Alvarado and Matthias Alvarado; daughter, Vanessa Vasquez and husband, Randy, of San Angelo and their son, Chris Vasquez; daughter, Melissa Almager and husband, Matt, of Levelland and their children, Matt Almager and Hayden Almager; son, Jay Alvarado of Florence, Colorado; eight great-grandchildren; mother, Rita Ruiz; five sisters; four brothers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
