Kay McCoy Stovall, Jr., 77, of Lubbock, passed from this life on March 13, 2021.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, at Krestridge Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 18, at Sundown Cemetery with Randy Winfrey officiating.
Kay was born June 28, 1943, in Los Angeles, California to Kay McCoy Stovall, Sr. and Ena Ruth Powell.
He was affiliated with the Callisburg Baptist Church and was a Baptist preacher.
“He was a man on a mission.”
He served in Desert Storm as a Chief Warrant Officer (CWO3) Flying helicopters for the United States Army.
In his personal time, he was passionate about his family and sharing the Word of God to others. The Army called him the “Preaching Pilot”.
He was an amazing husband, brother, father, and grandfather “Papa”. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ena Ruth Powell.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy Stovall; his brother, Mike Rickwa; sisters, Susan Kattner and Shirley Buck; his children: Paul and wife, Patty Stovall, Donald Stovall, Sena and husband, Jon Grantham and Amy and husband, Danny Green.
He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 16 great- grandchildren and one great- great-grandchild.
We love him a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck.
