Louise Garlett Strunk, 74, of Shallowater, passed away March 23, 2021, in Dallas.
She was born to parents Archie Theodore Garlett and Elvira Metcalf Garlett September 3, 1946, in Hiwasse, Arkansas.
Louise moved to Whiteface when she was five years old. She attended school in Whiteface.
She went on to study at South Plains College and then went for her business administration at Wayland Baptist University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree.
Louise worked at American Cotton Growers for 21 years before retiring to become a teacher.
She met Wilburn John Strunk, Jr. in 1962. They were married December 22, 1962, in Whiteface. Together they raised three children, Ted, Theresa and Tiffany.
Louise is survived by her husband, John; son, Ted Strunk of Joshua, Texas; daughter, Theresa (Roger)Mueller of Gunter, Texas and daughter, Tiffany Rojas of Shallowater; three granddaughters: Lexi Rojas, Taylor-Elaine Mueller and Landry Rojas; three grandsons: Hunter Mueller, Evan Mueller and Landen Rojas; stepson, John Strunk of Arlington; brother, Robert Garlett of Clyde; brother, Raymond Garlett of Whiteface; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Archie Theadore; mother, Elvira; and a brother, Jim Garlett.
The family has entrusted Bellmead Funeral Home with the arrangements.
A graveside service is scheduled for Saturday, March 27, at 11 a.m. at Riesel Graveyard in Riesel, Texas.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 10, at 11 a.m. at Broadview Baptist Church of Lubbock with David Rhodes officiating.
