Peggy Ann Wommack

On the 30th day of June, in the year 2020, Peggy Ann Wommack, 78, of Austin, passed peacefully in her sleep and went to be with our Lord.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Cook; her grandchildren, Madison Cook and Christian Cook; her niece, Janet Wright; her niece and nephew, Beverly and Carl Darnell; her nephew and niece, Blake and Tannya Hughes; and her brother-in-law, James Hughes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Everest “Ebb” Wiley and Jewel Wiley Hardin; her sister, Sallie Hughes; her step-father, Ralph Hardin; and her nephew, Fletcher Hughes.
Peggy was born November 8, 1941, in Rotan, Texas, to Everest “Ebb” Wiley and Jewel Wiley Hardin.
She graduated from Levelland High School in 1959 and continued her education and graduated from South Plains College in 1961, with her associates degree.
Peggy was a devoted mother and a beautiful example of a Godly woman. She showed unconditional love for all.
She loved being “Nana” to her two grandchildren. She always said that her greatest joy in life was being a mom and grandmother.
Peggy’s journey for the last nine years was not easy, but the family finds comfort in the certainty that she is reunited with her mom, dad and sister.
The chorus of her favorite hymn states, “Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,” and this is true today and every day. We love you and will see you again.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 12, at 10:30 a.m. at the City of Levelland Cemetery, located at 1498 Avenue H.
