Gregorio ‘Greg’ Balboa

Funeral services for Gregorio ‘Greg’ Balboa, 23, of Levelland, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 18, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Levelland, with Fr. Jonathan Phillips officiating.
Interment will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery, under the direction of Head Duarte Funeral Home of Levelland.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 17, from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. at Head Duarte Funeral Home Chapel with the reciting of the Rosary to be held at 7 p.m.
He passed away June 13, 2021, in Clovis, New Mexico.
Greg was born November 14, 1997, to Jose Antonio and Patricia Balboa in Lubbock.
He is a 2016 graduate of Levelland High School and continued with his education graduating from South Plains College in 2019, with an associates of art degree.
All Greg’s accomplishments and his favorite times were being a member of the Levelland High School Big Dawg Marching Band, Phi Theta Kappa, Campus Connections, Student Government Association and SPC Campus Host.
He achieved the President’s Honor Roll, Dean’s Honor Roll, Campus Ambassador Award and Thomas Spencer Sr. Award.
Greg enjoyed cooking outdoors and barbequing with his dad and trying out new recipes, playing video games and hanging out with his friends and taking road trips with his college buddies.
He loved his grandmother’s, ‘B,’ homemade cherry pie and his favorite team were the Texas Long Horns.
Greg was a life-time member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Levelland.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Samuel Carrasco and step-grandfather, Tony Magallans.
He is survived by his parents, Jose Antonio ‘Tony’ and Patricia ‘Trisha’ Balboa of Levelland; uncles, Hector Balboa of Houston and Locario Carrasco of South Lake, Texas; and grandmothers, Andrea Magallans and Celia Cardenas Balboa, both of Levelland.
Pallbearers include: Zach Vela, Mateo Gonzalez, Matt Gonzales, Luis Solano, David Castillo, Kevin Suenz and Nicholas Roberts.
Honorary pallbearers are: Rebecca Gililland and Audrey Crowson.
