The City of Levelland has narrowed down two finalists for the position of Levelland City Manager and will host a meet and greet Monday for the public to meet the two finalists.
Former Levelland City Manager Erik Rejino announced he would be leaving in September 2021 and the search for a new city manager began.
The two finalists for the position will participate in their final interviews Monday and then will meet the staff and the public.
“We have worked hard to bring forth two great candidates and are excited for the public to come and meet them,” said Mayor Barbra Pinner.
The public meet and greet is scheduled for Monday from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Levelland City Hall, located at 1709 Avenue H.
“It’s been a long search for the right person,” Mayor Pinner said.
The search began with 14 applicants and has since been narrowed down to two finalists.
Both finalists will be interviewed individually by the Levelland City Council Monday afternoon, followed by a meet and greet reception in the R.O. Dennis Council Chambers.
“We hope the community will come out and visit with our finalists,” Pinner said.
The search was managed by the executive recruitment firm Strategic Government Resources.
Then, the Levelland City Council is set to host an executive session during it’s 6 p.m. meeting Monday night to consider the employment or appointment of a public officer or employee: city manager.
Following executive session, the council will consider and take necessary action on making a conditional offer of employment or appointment for city manager.
Other items on the agenda Monday night include:
–Consider and take necessary action to approve the minutes of the March 21, 2022, Regular Meeting;
–Consider and take necessary action on procedures, processes, timelines, and priorities regarding lifting restrictions and regulations implemented during the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency–Resolution No. 2022-16;
–Consider and take necessary action on Resolution No. 2022-17 regarding utilization of the Levelland Civic Center as office space for the Texas Department of Emergency Management Liaison
–Consider and take necessary action on proposed rule changes for the Levelland Cemetery; and
–Consider and take necessary action to select an engineering firm for the 2022 Texas Rural Business Fund Program application and potential award.
