Alfons “Al” Monroe Ehrler

Celebration of life services for Alfons Monroe “Al” Ehrler, 82, of Levelland, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 1204 8th Street, Levelland.
He fought the good fight and he finished the race and passed from this life May 6, 2022, at 10 p.m. surrounded by family.
Al was born in Seagraves, January 26, 1940, to Dutch and Mary Ehrler.
He moved to Levelland and attended Levelland High School his sophomore year.
Football was a lifeline as it helped him acclimate to a new school.
He graduated with the class of 1958.
He married Treva Adams on August 24, 1958, at the First Methodist Church in Levelland.
He began working in upper management for Montgomery Wards.
During his tenure they lived in several different cities and states.
His desire to be self-employed, lead him to purchase a franchise (Gambles), in Globe Arizona and then in 1979, they returned home to open Gambles in Levelland.
A number of years later he embarked on a new business opportunity and opened Al’s Action Appliance.
Al was a member and Elder of First Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Levelland.
He was a member of the Hockley County Senior Citizens Center, serving as Board President for a number of years.
He loved fishing and golf in his free time.
Al was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Cody Wayne Ehrler.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Treva Ehrler; son, Cory and wife, Gay Ehrler; grandson, Keegan Ehrler; granddaughter, Alyssa and husband, Josh Hickman; and great-grandchildren: Addison, Rachel, Liel and Landon Hickman, all of Bastrop.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hockley County Senior Citizens.
