LHS students eligible for ACET scholarships

Levelland High School students are eligible and may apply for the $1,000 Association for Compensatory Educators of Texas (ACET) Scholarship.

This scholarship is for students in the state who have at some time in their school career, been enrolled in a compensatory education program, which includes Title I, bilingual/ESL, migrant and homeless.

The top-scoring student receives an additional $500 Wade & Sandy Burroughs Scholarship. Applicants must be graduating high school seniors from a Texas public school or charter school and show a commitment to improving their academic skills.

“All seniors at Levelland High School are eligible to apply as all Levelland ISD campuses are schoolwide Title I,” said Donna P. Pugh, director of curriculum, special programs. “Because of the percentage of free and reduced lunch participants, all of our schools qualify as Title I and, therefore, our students can and should apply for this award. Title I services and funds are used to upgrade the entire educational program and increase the academic achievement for all Levelland ISD students.”

To apply, students should visit acetx.org. or the Levelland High School counselors’ webpage. Applications are due by Feb. 27, 2026.
