Levelland Mayor Breann Buxkemper and Allied Oilfield Chief Operating Officer Dallas Pena will serve as parade marshals during Hockley County’s Home Sweet HoCo on Aug. 24.
The Smith Auto Family Grand Parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Avenue H in front of the Levelland Chamber of Commerce.
Buxkemper was nominated for her dedication to helping the city recover after the severe natural disaster on May 29.
“Levelland holds a special place in my heart because it’s where my roots run deep,” Buxkemper said. “Time and again, the people here have proven themselves to be not only thoughtful and kind but also remarkably resilient, facing hard times with unwavering strength and grace. I am so proud that Levelland is my home.”
Pena was nominated for contributing to local organizations and initiatives that help the city thrive. He co-founded Love Levelland and has served in leadership roles at his church, First Baptist Church of Levelland.
His nomination stated, “Dallas Pena is a shining example of what it means to be a dedicated and compassionate member of the Levelland community. His selfless contributions, leadership, and unwavering love for our town make him the perfect candidate for Parade Marshal.”
“Serving and loving Levelland has been a true honor throughout the years, and I am thrilled to participate in this year’s parade,” Pena said. “As a lifelong resident, I have been deeply blessed by the people of this community and have learned valuable lessons from so many remarkable individuals. “
