Some City Bank customers have recently received fraudulent calls from individuals pretending to be from the City Bank Fraud Center.
These imposters claim to be resolving a fraudulent transaction and will request your secure access code or VP token security code to gain access to your account. Please be aware this is a scam. A legitimate City Bank representative will never ask customers for username, password, debit card number, PIN, secure access code, or VIP Token security code.
If someone posing as City Bank contacts a customer by phone, email, or text and asks them to share share their account information or secure access codes, customers should not share the information. If a customer receives a text or email asking for account information or secure access codes, do not reply, the cusotmer should ignore the message. Do not call any numbers listed in the text or email.
If a customer receives a phone call that seems suspicious, end the call. A local area code does not guarantee that a caller is local.
If customers are unsure whether the person calling you is a City Bank employee, customers are encourages to hang up and call City Bank directly at 800-687-2265. Do not redial the number that called.
