City Council meeting set for Jan. 19

The Levelland City Council will hold its regular meeting on Jan. 19 at 6 p.m. at the city hall.

A public hearing will precede the regular meeting regarding an election to combine the current Type 4A (Levelland Economic Development Corporation) and Type 4-B (Levelland Community Development Corporation). Residents are invited to attend to find out details and offer comments.

During the regular meeting, council members are expected to consider and take action on Resolution 2026-01 ordering and establishing procedure for the City of Levelland general election on May 2.

The board is also expected to consider an ordinance repealing the Construction Advisory & Appeals Board.

Other considerations for possible actions include a donation of fire equipment to the Texas Forest Service Helping Hands Program, approving the quarterly financial report ending Dec. 31, 2025, and approving construction bids received for the Texas Development Block Grant CDM24-0068 for pedestrian and street improvements in the downtown district.

Council members are also expected to take the necessary action on a request for payment for $ 198,600 for the Levelland Municipal and Hockley County airport lighting project, TxDOT Project #2505LVND and authorize the mayor and/or city manager to execute the necessary documents.

The city manager is expected to present staff updates, recognitions and community items of interest. The council may convene into executive session, followed by possible action on related items.
