The Commissioner’s Court held its weekly meet-ing this Monday to discuss and approve ordinances and proposals.
The court considered the action to approve the prescription formulary for the StarCare Jail-Based Competency Recovery Program. The program would help with psychiatric care and restore competency for inmates using an approved prescription formulary to manage medication. The action was approved by the court.
An annual report was presented by Tylyn Rushing, president of the Hockley County Child Welfare Board to the court. The report included actions taken by the board to achieve its goals and discussed funding.
The Child Welfare Board also presented three ordinances for approval. The court considered steps to separate the Hockley County Child Welfare Board to work under a 501(c)(3) instead of under the county tax ID number, which was approved by the court.
Commisioners also approved new board members for the Child Welfare board including Tammie McDonald and Kati Moody and a proclamation for Child Abuse Awareness Month.
Hockley County Auditor Shirley Penner presented the FY205 Jail Commissary audit review. This reviewed the money coming in and out of the jail. The reports were presented for financial accountability.
The court approved the county government's monthly proclamation. This is set to honor the work that has been done for the community.
All monthly bills and claims dated up to April, 6 have been approved by the court.
