The Hockley County Commissioners Court met on Monday to discuss various ordinances and approvals.
During the meeting, the court discussed the Flood Management Evaluation. The topic was addressed during last week's meeting, and the court approved the master plan for small communities across Hockley County. The plan is set to reduce the county's flood risk.
The court took action to approve the renewal of the TAC Risk Management Pool Party. The TAC provides fi-nancial protection for county-owned property if it ends up damaged or lost. The court discussed the matter last week, and the action was approved.
Commissioners approved the use of a 2020 Chevy Tahoe for training at the Hockley County Sheriff’s Office shooting range. The vehicle won't be used on the road.
Approval was requested and granted to sell all decommissioned handguns and shotguns at the Hockley County Sheriff’s Office. Officers will have the chance to purchase their handguns back under their own names. Any guns not purchased for personal use by officers will still be sold.
The court approved use of the courthouse lawn on April for Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness on April 8 by the County Child Welfare Board.
Commissioners reviewed the Compliance Service Audit. The service regulates compliance with the law among organizations and ensures standards are met.
All monthly bills and claims submitted to the court through Mar 30 were approved.
