Commissioners hold regular meeting

The Hockley County Commissioners Court approved several agenda items during its meeting on Monday, Mar. 9.

Commissioners approved monthly claims dated through Mar. 9, then moved on to community event requesting use of the courthouse grounds including: Food truck Days on May 18, June 18, July 16, Aug. 20, and Sept. 17; Run the Mosaic on June 13; Trunk or Treat on Oct. 31; Ladies Night Out on Nov. 12; and Christmas on the Square on Dec. 3.

In other business, the court approved rotating the juvenile pick-up to the new pool vehicle, leaving the current pool vehicle for the DA investigator.

In other action, commissioners approved the official bond, oath, and the rider for Chief Deputy Pamela Dee Kiser, at the Hockley County Clerk’s Office.

Commissioners approved the purchase of a 2025 version of and trade in on a 2020 Caterpillar 150 motor grader. The grader will be bought through BuyBoard for use in Precinct 1.
