Councilman Stueart announces re-election bid for District D

Michael Stueart, a dedicated business owner and community leader, has officially announced his candidacy for re-election to the Levelland City Council, District D.

With decades of experience in business and civic service, Stueart is committed to ensuring that Levelland continues to thrive while maintaining fiscal responsibility and a spirit of collaboration within city leadership.

“In business, I have always felt that honesty, integrity, and commitment were the keys to success, along with providing the best customer service possible,” said Stueart. “I think that applies to everything I do, whether in business, at church, or in my service as councilman.”

Stueart, who has been a part of the Levelland business community for 30 years, brings a deep understanding of local economic needs, small business challenges, and responsible city planning. He and his wife, Dianna, have lived in Levelland since 1997, where they raised their children, Hannah and Jordan.

His career has spanned from construction and oilfield work to business ownership, including running a successful oil change shop and car wash for over a decade. Today, he and Dianna continue to serve the community through real estate at Paxton Real Estate.

“I know this town. I have been a part of this town and the business community here for 30 years,” said Stueart. “I have the experience to bring our city into the next 100 years. I can be counted on to do the right thing, no matter what. I am committed to this great town and want to help it grow in positive ways.”

Beyond business, Stueart has been deeply involved in community service, serving on various boards, foundations, and committees, including the Levelland Noon Lions Club, Levelland LIFE Foundation, SPC Foundation Board, Levelland Chamber of Commerce Board, the Planning and Zoning Board, and the Housing Standards Board.

Michael also serves on the board for South Plains Association of Governments, and is active in real estate trade committees. His leadership as chair of the Zoning Review Task Force has demonstrated his commitment to balancing progress with preserving Levelland’s values.

“As a councilman, I have always strived to keep my word and do the right thing by our citizens when decisions are hard,” Stueart emphasized. “I am a man of integrity, and I take seriously the trust the people of District D have placed in me.”

Stueart believes in fiscal responsibility, ensuring city departments have the resources they need while remaining accountable to taxpayers. His focus remains on keeping Levelland’s city services a priority while maintaining balanced budgets and fostering growth that benefits all residents.

With the election approaching, Stueart asks for the continued support of District D voters as he seeks to serve another term.

“I believe in Levelland and the people who make this community great. I would be honored to continue representing District D and working together to build a strong future for our city,” Stueart said.

Early voting will be held April 22 through April 29 at the Hockley County Elections Administration Office, located at 911 Austin Street. Election day is Saturday, May 1 and voting will be held at the Hockley County Tax Office at 624 Ave. H.
