Hockley County 4-H is advising that it is time to sign up in order to compete at the county stock show. Members may sign up on Oct. 30 and Nov. 6 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hockley County Extension office for not just the county show, but all major spring shows in Texas and should bring a social security number and Quality Counts number.
The Hockley County Jr. Livestock Show is on the calendar for Jan.21-22, 2026 at the Mallet Event Center. Entry deadline is midnight on Dec. 5.
The show features various animal competitions, including goats, lambs, rabbits, hogs, steers, and heifers, as well as judging for Ag Mechanics projects. The event concludes with an awards ceremony and auction.
