Sanctuary Cities for the Unborn founder Mark Lee Dickson received a "Defender of Life Award" from the Cotton Country Republican Women. Dickson was first invited to Hockley County in 2019 by Kati and Heath Morris. A total of 93 cities and 19 counties have passed ordinances outlawing abortion and declaring themselves Sanctuaries for the Unborn.
